“Screen Time Awareness:  A Balanced Approach to Monitoring Your Kids’ TV, Computer, and Video Game Habits”

Thursday, February 28, 2008
7 - 8:30 pm at the Visser Family YMCA in Grandville

Do you have a hard time pulling your kids away from the TV, computer, or video games?  The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no more than 7-10 hours of screen time per week for children over 2, and no screen time for children under 2.  However, many parents find these guidelines hard to stick with, given the number of educational screen time activities available 24/7.

At this workshop, participants will learn how to:
•    Manage your kids’ total screen time
•    Teach age-appropriate media literacy skills, and
•    Replace those lost hours with family-friendly, engaging activities

This 90-minute parent workshop will be presented by PCI Certified Parent Coach®, Jennifer Wolf.  Handouts and take-home exercises will be provided.

The cost of the workshop is $10 per person or $15 per family, payable at the start of the class.  Pre-registration is appreciated but not required.  Call the Visser Family YMCA at 530-9199 to register.
