Taking Time
An excerpt from the book Daily Wisdom for Mothers by Michelle Medlock Adams.
“I once read an article that said children spell love T-I-M-E. As I pondered that statement, I had to agree. Sometimes as parents, we think that our kids spell love M-O-N-E-Y because our society has become so materialistic, but in reality, kids just want to be with us. Abby and Ally would rather spend an afternoon watching old Doris Day movies on my big bed than practically anything I could give them. They actually enjoy being with me, and thats something I am so thankful for. I realize that as they get older, that may not always be true, so I want to take advantage of each and every opportunity to snuggle together, eat buttery popcorn, and watch Doris Day work her onscreen magic with Rock Hudson.
Find some activities that you and your children enjoy doing together like going hiking, going fishing, doing crafts, reading stories, baking cookies, playing board games. Just find some common ground and make time for your children. Even if you have to pencil in a day of baking cookies with kids in your daily planner—do it! Dont just say you love your children—show them! Spend some time together.”

I am so glad that God put you in my walking path today at the mall. Thank you for sharing the MOPs at First meeting info with me. I thought I’d check out the blog and again God put you there. I really needed to read this great excerpt that you posted in regards to TIME vs. MONEY. Thank you my neighbor!
